Wet n Wild Megalast Lipcolor - Stoplight Red, Smokin' Hot Pink and Purty Persimmon Swatches & Review

Purchased by me/Contains affiliate links

Hey lovelies,

I've been sneakily adding to my Wet n Wild Megalast lippy collection over the last few months and I thought it was about time I shared swatches and a review :) You can find my review and swatches of the shades I already have here (I'm in the process of reswatching them at the moment, casuse those old swatches are a bit rubbish!). I really do love these lippies, the quality is consistent and the shade range is right up my alley.

The Megalast lippies come in glossy black packaging with a clear cap so you can easily locate the colour you're after. They close securely and are quite sturdy, I've never had any problems with cracked caps and the like.

Purty Persimmon is a bright orange matte that leans red. Despite being a matte, it does have a slight sheen which keeps it from being completely flat. It's a little more red toned than MAC Morange so I'm totally allowed both :D Texture-wise, it's very creamy and doesn't feel drying.

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipcolor - Smokin' Hot Pink Swatches & Review

Smokin' Hot Pink is a muted rose pink. It has the most matte finish of the three shades I'm reviewing here. It too had a creamy texture, wasn't drying and lasted well. This shade makes me feel a bit grown up! :) It's very wearable and easy to dress up or down.

Wet n Wild Stoplight Red Swatches & Review

Stoplight Red is a bright blue based red matte. It had the most sheen and was the creamiest of the three shades I'm reviewing today. I did find this shade feathered a little on me even with lipliner, which was a little annoying, so I don't reach for it all that often. It's deeper and a bit darker than Red Velvet from the same line.

What I liked:
  • Consistently awesome colour pay off
  • Great texture
  • Decent wear time - easily hits the 4 hour mark Wet n Wild promises, and a little more if oily food is avoided.
  • Very inexpensive - ranges between $7 and $10NZD from etailers in NZ, even cheaper overseas.
  • For a matte formula, they're incredibly forgiving - they don't highlight flaws and they don't feel drying either.
What I didn't like:
  • I found Stoplight Red a little prone to feathering, even with lipliner - however I am very prone to feathering, so your mileage may vary.
Where to buy:
  • Ebay
  • Amazon
  • Beautyjoint.com stocks these lippies and ships internationally - I've previously ordered from them with good results.
  • NZ readers can purchase from Trade Me seller Splashstore, which is where I purchased these.
Do you have any Megalast Lipcolors? Do you like them as much as I do?
